Özgür Özel responded to Ömer Çelik: “What kind of burnout is this?”

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced his party's promises for power at the 39th Ordinary Kastamonu Provincial Congress. In his speech, Özel criticized the AKP administration and criticized the politicization of the judiciary.

Özel stated that under CHP rule, TOKİ would complete the Cumhuriyet Dormitories within a year. He stated that state-run daycare centers would be built in every neighborhood, and that dormitories for underprivileged students and nurseries for young children would be provided as free public services. "Young people will not be slaves at anyone's doorstep or material for anyone's ideology," Özel said, emphasizing that everyone would be free to choose their party, beliefs, and lifestyle.

Özel recalled Erdoğan's rudeness toward people his own age. "Let's not inflict the same evil we've witnessed upon our opponents," Özel said, urging Erdoğan to confront them if he had the courage. Özel said Erdoğan lacked the strength to fight against us and couldn't trust the women's and youth branches.

"Erdoğan has established a new branch within his party: the AK Party's judicial branch," Özel said, noting that Akın Gürlek had been appointed head of the judicial branch. Özel also noted that Gürlek had been transferred from his deputy ministerial position to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, claiming that no persecution has been unleashed since then.

Özel stated that the indictment, announced at the beginning of September, was issued 10 months later, at the end of October. Özel stated that they had reviewed the 570-page indictment and argued that it contained no evidence. "It only contains the testimonies of individuals who were slandered under the guise of informants, saying 'I'll take you out if you sign this,'" Özel said, adding that there was no one giving or receiving bribes.

Özel announced that they were eagerly awaiting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality indictment. "Our patience has run out," Özel said, emphasizing their confidence. Recalling that 560 billion lira in corruption allegations were made in the initial days, Özel stated that 61-65 percent of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's budget goes to salaries.

Özel, noting that the municipality paved asphalt, built the subway, distributed milk, and provided student support, announced a total expenditure of 470 million lira over six years. "Look at the enormity of the lie," Özel said, adding that the claim about Ekrem İmamoğlu's cars had been refuted and that it had been revealed that these cars belonged to the MHP member of parliament. "We are waiting for that indictment not to be tried, but to judge," Özel said, emphasizing that they are waiting to prosecute the slanderers and the slanderers.

Özel reacted to AKP spokesperson Ömer Çelik's remarks at a parliamentary group meeting. Recounting Çelik's statement, "Özgür Özel is supposedly going to try us; he has a Yassıada mentality," Özel asked, "What kind of burnout is this, Ömer Çelik?" Özel stated that the CHP had never approved of the 1960 coup.

He recalled İsmet İnönü, who stood for democracy during the March 12th era by declaring, "This coup was staged against me." Özel also recalled Erdoğan's double-crossing of Kenan Evren, the perpetrator of the September 12th coup, and his exclaiming, "Pasha, oh, I was meant to be in your time."

Özel reminded that Parliament was closed on the evening of the July 15 coup attempt. "Those you claimed to have given whatever they wanted, those you gave F-16s to, those you gave tanks to, those you dressed in their robes and made into judges, those you filled with their epaulettes, attempted a coup against you," Özel said, emphasizing that the CHP stands against the coup.

Özel, stating that they stand behind democracy as the party that established Parliament and brought the ballot box and election, said they had the closed Parliament opened and its lights turned on. Özel, who said, "We defended the gas-filled Parliament against those putschists you fostered," added that he was now being criticized for the coup and for suing his opponents. "We neither seek help from places outside of democracy, nor will we go to America and seek help from Trump," Özel said, explaining that they only trust the people.

Özel said Erdoğan went to the US and sat at Trump's feet. He noted that he bought Boeing planes and lowered tariffs on American goods while increasing them on Chinese goods. Özel, who most recently claimed that rare earths in Eskişehir were a matter of negotiation, said, "He will give Trump bags and truckloads of rare earths."

Özel stated that the US would purify these elements, extract rare earth elements, and use them in high-technology. He stated that he would sell the soil he bought for 1 lira for 1,000 lira as a mobile phone, claiming that Erdoğan had traded Türkiye's future for his own political future with Trump. Explaining that they had signed a paper in Parliament to this effect, Özel stated that Türkiye should exclusively mine and process rare earth elements itself. "Their export to foreign countries should be banned," Özel declared, challenging Erdoğan.
